《轮回》简介：昭和45年(1970年)，在群马县某旅店中发生了一起惨绝人寰的杀人事件。杀人犯就是医学专业的大学教授——大森范久(治田敦饰)，死者包括宿客、旅店伙计以及大森家人在内的11人，其中最后被杀的是他年幼的女孩。大森的杀人动机不明，最终神秘的死了，警方只得草草结案……
35年后，电影导演松村郁夫(椎名桔平饰)，决定以这一事件为蓝本将其拍摄成电影。他决定以被害人为焦点，再现这一让人无法从记忆中抹去的事件，更让人琢磨不透的是松村决定启用新人演员——杉浦渚(优香饰)担任主角。为了追求影片的真实感，松村说服了制片人(小市漫太郎饰)等，带着演职人员去了发生杀人事件的那个旅店，恰好演员一共11人，跟当年被害的人数相同。渚带着不安来到了那个已经成为废墟的红色屋檐的旅店。在那，渚产生了幻觉，不由自主地走到了一个房间——227号房。这个房间就是当年被杀的小女孩住的房间。
木下弥生(香里奈饰)接连不断地做着奇妙的梦——小时候，红色屋檐的旅店。问了父母，自己小时候根本没有去过那样的旅店。弥生觉得这不单单是记忆幻觉，为此她十分不安，于是她的恋人尾西和也(小栗旬饰)给她介绍了一位可以感知别人前世的术师——森田由香(松本万里花饰)。根据由香所说，弥生所梦到的并不是她前世的记忆，而是她跟随着她的前世所看到的景象。由香根据35年前的新闻记录，找到了在那次事件中唯一的幸存者大森的妻子歩美(三条美纪饰)，并从她那得知了事件关键的重大事实。同时弥生也为了弄清楚事件的真相，去了发生那场灾难性案件的旅店。
此时，日本国内发生多起失踪案件，这些失踪的人之间没有任何联系，唯一的共同点就是他们的年龄都在35岁以下。弥生的朋友也突然失踪了，失踪之前留下了“35年前，我是在这被勒死的……”的线索，他所指的就是那个旅店。失踪的这些人都是35年前死去的人转世的吗？如果是那样，渚也是当年死的人转世的吗？到底谁是那个女孩？渚、弥生、松村都来到了这些人失踪的旅店，难道过去的一幕又要重现吗……

但轮回并不是说人轮回就仍然是投胎去做人，畜生轮回了就仍然投胎去做畜生。真实的情况是（中国和国外已经有很多古代或近现代的真实例子说明轮回的情况）：人如果不行善而多行恶事，那么死后轮回就会投生到恶道，比如说投生到畜生道做畜生。而畜生道众生如果多行善事（比如说一只义犬救人之类的善事），那么死后轮回就会投生到善道做人。这就是佛教讲的因果，种什么因结什么果，种善因结善果，种恶因结恶果。
